For young people nowadays, the name Elvis Presley might not mean anything. But for parents or our grandparents, Elvis is the greatest superstar ever lived on earth.

Handsome, macho voice, and good-nature. The story of his life journey is quite an inspiration to us who are struggling through life.

Elvis' teenager life filled with heavy work. He ever worked in the workshop and became a truck driver. As an only child, Elvis is very close to his mother named Gladys Love. Fraud case committed by Elvis' father, had made them lost their home and had to stay at the house of one of their family. When life is getting harder, they finally had to move away from Tupelo to Memphis.

2. Got bullied in school

As a quiet and shy boy, Elvis didn't have a friend at school. The only friend was only a battered guitar. Elvis learned himself how to play the instrument. At school, not a single woman wanted to go with him. Even these girls will be a crying shame if anyone says "Elvis love you".

When he was alone, he would play guitar to entertain himself. He was embarrassed to sing. In class, Elvis often failed in music lessons. Everyone, including the teacher said that he was a child who doesn't have a musical talent. He even rejected when tried to register as a member of the church choir.

3. Early Career

One day someone heard Elvis singing and amazed by his voice which is very dashing. This person asked Elvis to follow the usual talent contest held in the city of Memphis. From then on, his name became known among musicians.

Elvis then invited to sing on the radio. His heavy and bluesy voice makes many viewers believed it was a black man who was singing. This came into a problem, because at that time in USA white and black people slightly differentiated. Radio which owned by white people no longer wanted to invite Elvis because of his voice like black people. By contrast, radio owned by black people didn't want to invite him because Elvis was a white man.

This young man didn't give up. He saved up to be recording in the studio. Initially he wanted to record a song as a gift for his mother. Elvis when recording in the studio, the studio owner heard his voice and was amazed at the mighty voice.

Studio owner then signed him to make an album. With this album Elvis's name began to be known. He began gigging frequently invited everywhere with the band. His name was uphill, and the major record companies began to glance at it. Elvis then contracted by a famous record label.

4. Conquer the World

The songs are often played on the radio and Elvis got many gig offers. His unique style on stage, making girls became interested in him. Elvis distinctive dancing style is being copied a lot of people in his city. Other cities began to invite Elvis to perform.

Became so famous on stage, Elvis finally invited to perform on national TV. His appearance makes the world captivated. His dancing style favored by young children, but few parents considered that it was too sensual. This controversy even made Elvis became more famous.

His appearance on the stage then became more crowded. Thousands of girls would scream hysterically calling his name as he sings. Elvis which considered as ugly, has turned into a handsome young man who was loved by all women!

Film producer also offered him to play in film. And all movies starring Elvis sold very well!

 5. Still Being Low Profile

At the peak of his fame, Elvis had to follow to the government. He must enter the conscripts who was indeed required by young age. He willingly left his career which was at its highest point and joined the army with the lowest rank.

Elvis then performed in several places. In each place, Elvis also sometimes perform to entertain his soldier friends for free. When he was assigned in Germany, Elvis Presley met with Priscilia who later would become his wife. Priscilia is the daughter of an army captain who happened to be on duty in Germany as well.

When Elvis in Germany, his mother was sick and dying. Elvis asked for permission to return to the United States to accompany his sick mother, the mother whom he loved breathed his last. And Elvis finally brought his father to live with him in Germany.

When the military task has completed, Elvis returned to America and back on his singing career. Although he left the music scene for several years, the fans were still waiting. Elvis' career is getting booming again. His concerts were always sold out.

One that can't be lost from Elvis is his good manner. He was also a religious. Never use dirty words, also very humorous and humble. As a superstar, of course, a lot of girls wanted to date him. Elvis never use this opportunity to have sex with these girls.

Many stories were told that Elvis often invited them to his hotel room after a concert. But Elvis never dated them. He even being polite on these girls. Elvis sang romantic songs for them, inviting them to dinner at a famous restaurant. Even drove them home and met their parents and had a chat politely.

As a rich man, he was very humble. He often gives lavish gifts on some poor friend as he used to be. He also often give money to strangers. There is a story that tells Elvis gives a luxury car which he was driving to a fence painter. And Elvis had to go home by taxi.

Elvis's popularity also makes the presidents and kings wanted to know him. Elvis often invited to their palace to sing or just having dinner. With all these luxuries, Elvis still hasn't lost his humble attitude, speak politely, and smile to everyone.

The situation became so miserable that Elvis had to divorce Priscilla. The divorcement is enough to destroy him. Because since then, Elvis began taking tranquilizers that made him addictive.

7. End of the King of Rock n Roll

Elvis became addicted to drug, his appearance also decreased drastically. He became increasingly obese. His speech was often digress. Sometimes he slept all day and should be forced to get up in order to perform.

While performing on a stage, Elvis hasn't lost his charisma despite his extremely obese and have tried hard to finish the concert. His cheerful style which likes to joke on stage wasn't lost too. When it was finished, Elvis would sleep for hours until all his friends afraid that he may die. Elvis was often fell into a coma due to a combination of sedative and coercion which he was doing to himself.

His desire to keep on performing gig makes him sometimes often digress on stage, sometimes forget the lyrics, and sometimes looks like a dreamy and has an empty soul. But the concert still filled with fans who admired his charisma and voice.

His closest people's fear became true on August 16, 1977 when a friend wanted to wake Elvis to get ready to perform on stage. His friend found Elvis on the bathroom floor. All medical effort had done, but Elvis was hopeless to save.

His death was announced by the current American president, Jimmy Carter. The world lost a handsome humble idol.

The journey of Elvis' life gave a lesson to us to be patient and persistent in even though others bullied and laughed at us. Remain humble and remain faithful to your partner. Bit error will destroy the career and all the efforts that we have built with great difficulty.
